    3. A primary method I am using in my research of the early Brethren Churches of Kentucky, is to follow the Brethren families, as they go to Kentucky, and as members of the family leave Kentucky in the moves west. I have collected the following data on these families. I would appreciate your review of this information, and any proven corrections you can provide. Than you Merle C Rummel ********************************* COFFMAN Family Several of the children of Jacob Coffman moved from Botetourt County VA to Muhlenberg Co KY and are certainly members of the Brethren Churches there. 3. Thanks much for complete info. It seems to me the marriage of Mary Coffman & Geo Kline s/b listed at Harrisonburg, VA rather than Harrisburg.  I had the same mistake on some of my files   Wayne Lucore --- On Wed, 6/11/08, Merle C Rummel <cliff@rtkonline.com> wrote: From: Merle C Rummel <cliff@rtkonline.com> Subject: [BRE] Coffman et al To: brethren@rootsweb.com Date: Wednesday, June 11, 2008, 7:26 AM I would appreciate your review of this information, and any proven corrections you can provide. 3. I am working on a Coffman line from near Harrisonburg, VA, but it is not Brethren, but members and ministers of the United Brethren in Christ.church. I understand there were even two Martin Coffman's from that area both ended up in Fairfield Co,OH. One was United Brethren in Christ and the other from another church. I know there were Brethren in the area. A good source from the Kauffman-Coffman families is the book "Kauffman-Coffman Lineages" by Charles Fahs Kauffman (1940). I know it is available in the Allen Co., IN library in Ft. Wayne and several other libraries. Many of the records on the Shenandoah valley were buried by Sherman during the civil war so records are scarce.
