Per the Peru Republican--Peru, Indiana Annie M. blocher, wife of Josiah Blocher, was born Mar.7, 1848, in Montgomery County, Ohio. Her parents moved to Miami County, IN. in 1854. She was married to her now bereaved husband Jan. 1, 1868. After a short illness, at her home in this city she passed away on the morning of Sept. 20, 1868, being 20 years, 6 months and 3 days old. She became a member of the United Brethren Church in 1865 and gave satisfactory evidence of entire devotion to Christ. It was not her nature to be demonstrative, but modest and retiring in character, she made no enemies, but bound all who came in contact with her by the silken cords of affection. It was said by those who knew her best that "Annie was always a good dutiful child." As a wife she was all her husband could have desired. To her companion, father, mother, brother and sister, the affliction is a severe one indeed, but they are comforted with the reflection that their loss is her gain. They can unite in these beautiful words. "Peaceful be thy silent slumber, Peaceful in the grave so low, Thou no more wilt join our number, Thou no more our song shall know." "Yet again we hope to greet thee, When the toils of life have fled, Then in heaven with joy to greet thee, Where no farewell tear is shed." --------------------------------- Never miss a thing.
