thanks - I had a couple differences in the information I had collected - Mary Custer Kessler was sister to my ancestress, Sarah Custer Kern. John Custer (father) died in 1812, living on Duck Creek, near (east of) Sharonville, Hamilton OH (north of Cincinnati). I have that John Custer moved to the Sharonville area about 1805. I had earlier found him living near New Richmond OH - close to the Ohio River, with Elizabeth Houser Custer (mother) moved back among the children at the Obannon Church, and is buried at the Myers (Moyer) Cemetery west of Goshen (1829). Two sons and two daughters (including my Sarah) lived in that area (the Myers Cemetery was not conveniently located to where my Sarah Kern lived - so I suspect at death she was living with either Emanuel Custer, or Elizabeth Custer Frybarger - both of whom are buried at Myers) is there information available on the children of John and Mary (Custer) Kessler - I have information on only 2 of the 10 children in my list. Merle > John Kessler was born 9 July 1768 in an unknown location in PA. His family > moved from PA to Rockingham County VA living there less than a decade, then > Wilkes now Ashe County NC in 1789 where he was married to Mary Custer. They > left Ashe County c1812 moving to Hamilton County OH and the following year > to Jefferson Township, Montgomery County OH, c1832 to Stony Creek Township, > Henry County IN. Yet in the later decade, some of their children moved > further northwest into Indiana and it is not established if John followed in > these moves or went directly to Kosciusko County where he died.
