    2. William D. Jagger 86, Silver lake, IN went to be with his Lord at 4:05 a.m. Sunday May 25, 2008 at his residence. He was born October 15 1921 at Columbia City, IN to Fred E and Ethel M. (Gipe) Jagger. On August 15 1942 he married Evelyn L. Kline, she survives. He farmed with his father for a short while, was a house-painter and U.S. postal clerk. In 1966 he and Evelyn purchased the Summe Hardware Store in Silver lake, IN and operated it with their son, Larry until 1994. He was a 1939 graduate of Silver Lake High School, a member of the American Legion, Silver Lake and a life member of Disabled American Veterans, Warsaw. During the years Bill was raising his children he was a Boy Scout leader for more than 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and "tinkering" in his workshop. Bill loved his Lord, adored his Evey and treasured his children and grandchildren. He was a U.S. Marine veteran serving in the Pacific Theater during W.W. 2, suffering severe injury during the battle of Saipan. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member and Deacon of West Eel River COB Silver Lake, IN Also surviving are two sons; Larry W.(Faye) Jagger, Winona Lake, IN/ DR. Michael J. Jagger, Mishawaka, IN one daughter, Gaylo(Mrs. David) Goss, Rochester, IN. One sister, Thelma (Mrs. Jack) Butler, Laketon, IN 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by one son, Philip E. Jagger 1970, a daughter-in-law, Ramona Jagger and two sisters. Services will be held Thursday, May 29 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in West Eel River COB, 799 W St RD 14, Silver Lake, IN Friends and Family may call on Wednesday May 28, 2008, from 2-8 p.m. at Delaughter-Mckee Mortuary, North Manchester and one-hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Pastor Paul Tinkel will officiate and burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake. Memorials may be made to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, 902 Provident Dr. Warsaw IN 46580 or West Eel River COB, 799 W St Rd 14, Silver Lake, IN 46982.
