In my copy of "History of the Churches of the Brethren in Colorado 1874-1957" by Blanche B Frantz, I checked the list of Colorado COB's, which are listed by the congregation's name and not the town. Paonia is on the Western Slope, and I thought I might recognize the names of Western Slope congregations, but I didn't see one I recognized as being near Paonia or even near Delta. The Western Slope congregations I found on the list are: Fruita (my husband's home church), Grand Junction, Glade Park (west of Fruita), Grand Valley (between Fruita & G J in an area known as Appleton), Mt Garfield/Palisade. All of those are in Mesa County. The rest of the congregations listed seem to be on the Eastern Slope, but there are some "mission points" whose names didn't suggest a location to me:. Cheraw, for one, doesn't appear on the map at the front of the book but is listed as an organized COB from the 1920's to the 1930's. I did check the section of biographies but found nobody named Bond. There is not an index for the book. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Jan T **************Get trade secrets for amazing burgers.
