    3. Beverly, you are correct in regard to "stress" on the pacifist youth. Also remember, as anabaptists who did not believe in infant baptism and practiced adult baptism, thes e"Young Men" often were not yet members of the church and had not been baptized, and were not under the discipline of the church. I know many stories ('Civil War Times) in which the "non-resistant" men were simplycarried off to training camps, where they soon deserted and fled and hid away.
