    3. Thanks to all for the helpful information on finding the Hustons. What's the source for the information that Thomas and Agnes Huston lived near Fort Littleton? I have quite a bit information on Thomas and Agnes after they moved to Franklin County, VA sometime around 1765. Their sons James and Samuel left Franklin County VA and moved with their families to Preble County, Ohio, about 1804. They were perhaps founders of the Four Mile Church there. Thomas and Agnes' daughter Nancy married Abraham Miller, the son of Jacob Miller, and they settled in Preble County also. Merle Rummell is the source of a great deal of information on Preble County, and I'm grateful to him for his early history of the families of Preble County. But I've never been able to find a source to prove where Thomas was born or how Thomas and Mathew were related. Any hints on how to find the source material would be welcome!! Thanks to Sharon for the referral to the PA archives. There tend to be very few records with relationships explicitly described, such as estate records, so a person has to make do. I am still looking for estate records for these particular people since I have found far fewer of them then I would have expected given that they owned significant property, etc. Our library in town has an excellent collection of Lancaster Co., PA books (land, will, church records, etc.) but no luck so far. I do wonder if the boundaries of the counties being so much in flux at that time is creating a lot of problems. I was shocked to find estate records for Andreas Krafft on the Philadelphia Co., PA USGenWeb site. He lived in an area that became western Berks Co., PA so I would have thought that his land was originally in Lancaster County. Really confusing. I wonder if something like that has happened to these Kolckgloser and Kitzmiller people. It's wonderful, once you figure it out. You often get a map that shows neighbors. Be sure to go to google the site that has progressive maps of PA by county formation, and keep that site available while you are figuring out who lived where. Fulton County was carved out of Bedford County in 1851. Bedford County was part of Cumberland County before 1771. The Huston for which Hustontown was named was also a Thomas. He was born in Ireland about 1787 and died 1864 in Hustontown, Fulton Co., Pa. His descendants can be found at Ron Rose's Fulton County, PA Rootsweb site at: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=REG&db=rrrose2&id=I047561 We only have three Brethren Churches in Fulton County, the Knobsville Church of the Brethren, a few miles south east of Hustontown, the Corner Church of the Brethren in Ayr township several miles east of Hustontown organized 1843, and the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, my home church, in Belfast Township, Fulton County several miles south of Hustontown. Both of these churches are newer. The Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren spun off of the Stone Bridge Church in Franklin County, Pa on the Maryland state line about 1870. I believe the Knobsville church was started around 1940.
