The late Wilbur Linder of Portland IN was by far the most authorative on the Butterbaugh-Puterbaugh-Puderbaugh family. In one of the letters that he sent me he listed the children of Jacob Puderbaugh Jr, by Magdalena Schlechty as John Allen 1810 m Mary Ann Michael, Jacob 1811 m Sarah Porter, Susannah 1812 m James McFarland, Mary "Polly" 1814 m John Fouts, David 1815 m Elizabeth Michael, Barbara 1817 m Samuel Michael, Fannie 1820 m James Cue, Henry Michael, John Aiken, Elizabeth 1822 m George Washington Werst, Catherine c1823/4 m ?David Reith, Samuel 1825 m Elizabeth Porter, Jesse 1827 m Mary Michael, Lydia 1829 m Decatur Werst and Magdalena 1830-circa 1848. In the article he wrote for the Mennonite Family History in 1983 he names Jacob Puderbaugh Jr's sister Elizabeth 1786-1866 wife of Jonathan Hoover as living in Henrietta PA. Wilbur did not identify an Elizabeth born in 1776. I have been told that Wilbur's research material was donated to the Allen County Public Library in Ft. Wayne IN. Can anyone verify this?
