    1. [BRE] Jacob Puderbaugh
    2. Interesting. In the Jefferson County Genealogical Society's tombstone inscription book, "Tombstone Inscriptions and Burials, Jefferson County, Kansas, 1854-1986," I find a burial record for Jacob Puderbaugh with apparently matching dates in Jefferson County, KS: Puderbaugh, Jacob, 5 Feb 1788 - 11 April 1865 OZWK indicating that he is buried in Ozawkie Cemetery. However, while there are many listings for Puderbaughs in Ozawkie cemetery, I did not find a listing for Rebecca or for Catherine. No other Jacobs. I haven't been following the stuff about Richard Roe, so I don't know the names involved other than Puderbaugh. However, there is a listing for Mary Rowe [sic], which says "See Puderbaugh, OZWK" There are a few listings for ROE, one for ROW, and perhaps 10 for ROWE. Might any of these be relevant? In the same society's marriage book, I didn't find anything that seemed to fit. Jan T **************Need a new ride? Check out the largest site for U.S. used car listings at AOL Autos. 3. The Jacob Puderbaugh the 2nd of this post was born in Bedford Co PA son of Jacob Puterbaugh Sr. & Susannah (unknown; not Ulrich as some claim) and married 1) c1809 Magdalena Schlechty 1789-1831, 2) 22 Mar 1833 Miami Co OH, Elizabeth Teeter 1805-1853 daughter of Abraham Teeter Jr. & Hannah Paul and widow of Johannes/John Wise the 3rd. After the deaths of both of his wives in Darke Co OH, Jacob moved with part of his 19 surviving children to near North Manchester, Wabash Co IN and later with some of them to near Ozawkie KS where he died. The eldest known child, Jacob Puterbaugh the 3rd 1810 -1894 m Sarah Porter. There was a daughter Catherine, however she was deceased when her father Jacob the 2nd wrote his will 20 Jan 1858, "I appoint David Reith as guardian for the heirs of my daughter Cathrine". It is uncertain who her husband or children were, however the naming of David Reith suggests he may be the children's father. This does not fit the Wells Co IN biographical information as given for Catherine Puterbaugh Roe. Checking the Gospel Messenger index under the surname spellings of Roe, Row Rowe, I find no Ezekiel or Catherine. I have no information regarding a Jacob Puterbaugh and wife Rebecca Noffsinger.
