Thanks Bill: The Newcomer and Newmyer names seem to be fairly distinct, and I haven't run into any records where variations on the names would be confused. I have also run into connections between the two families. I have one Peter Newcomer, born 1753 in Manor Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. He was Mennonite, and later settled in Tyrone Twp, Fayette Co, PA. His son Christian, married about 1814 to Mary Newmyer, who was the granddaughter of Jacob. Based on proximity, I'd imagine Wolf and Peter were probably related.
