Merle Rummel, Thanks for the info! I hope that it helps others too. David Myers & Gale Honeyman, I have a copy of Adam Stump's Bible with his family's births. It was found at the DAR Library in Wsh DC. I'm preparing the fourth volume of 'CCO & Area Bible Records' for the Columbiana Co Chapter OGS and have been searching everywhere for Bible records of persons living in (or passing through after one generation) CCO or any of the townships that touch the county. This record shows: 'Adam Son of Benjamin and Mary Stump was born March 3rd AD 1818'. The last 18 is smeared. As for the reference to Casper Benjamin Stump, I believe this is in error. There was a Casper Stump 1767 - 1837 who is also buried in Moultrie Chapel Cem. This family came after the 1830 census & is found buying land in 1835. It is believed that Casper & Ben were brothers & their father may have been Casper. I have no source for this speculation. Casper's son, Michael, is shown to have been born in York Co, Pa in the CCO Death Records (vol 3 pg 519) maintained by the county. As for the tombstone information on FInd-A-Grave (what a wonder aid in finding information!) concerning Casper, I would like to caution everyone that most of the time people do not go and 'see' any particular tombstone. They accept what has been written in the county's tombstone inscription books. I know for fact that not all of the cemetery's old, difficult to read, tombstones in CCO were 'chalked'. There may have been error when reading them. Also, there is some difference of opinion as to who were the parents of Casper's wife, 'Sarah' Fissel 1789 - 1852, with John & Margaret Fissel suggested & some of the researchers of the Fissels saying that 'Elizabeth' Fissel (same dates, w/o Casper) was the d/o Henry Fissel. Was her full name Elizabeth Sarah? Again, I hope that this info helps others. Pat McArtor
