A number of the Brethren (German Baptist) who came to Knox Tp, CCO came from the Mill Creek congregation in Woodworth, Mahoning Co, Oh. This small crossroad's town was located near the intersecting township lines of Springfield, Beaver, Boardman & Poland. The congregation in Knox Tp was called the Sandy congregation and covered a large area. The meeting itself was called the Reading Meeting. Many of the chn of the early settlers moved westward along US Rt 30 and I've found CCO names in most of the counties that Rt 30 crosses, all the way to Kosciusko Co and also the northern tier of Ind counties. Pat McArtor Interesting - I didn't have this much!!! I have been to the grave of this Abraham Stump - it is in Potato Creek State Park, there south of South Bend IN. Sarah Burkholder, daughter of the minister John Burkholder and Catherine Stump (dau of my Solomon), married Geroboam Stump, son of above Abraham Stump and Rebecca Hildebrand, and lived northwest of Teagarden IN (St Joseph Co - south of South Bend). I have seen their stones in the cemetery near there (Pine Creek church) Catherine Burkholder, an older daughter, married Jacob Stump - a brother of "Geroby"., and lived a couple farms away. They had no children of their own, bur raised several other children. Solomon Burkholder, an older brother, married a Sarah Stump, but I did not locate her parents - they did live near south of Geroby and Sarah (Burkholder) Stump, in Marshall Co IN Somewhere in my files I do have a listing on this family group - they were said to have come down from Canada to western Pennsylvania. I have long wondered if they had connections to my line. But their dates of moving OUT OF Canada are about the dates when my Abraham Stump moved TO Canada. Merle C Rummel
