For a little over three years a group of Brethren have been working on finding a way to put all Brethren periodicals on the internet for free access by anyone interested. The group consists of folks from nearly all Brethren groups who trace their Brethren heritage back to Alexander Mack and the original eight from Schwarzenau, Germany. This includes all Brethren colleges, universities, archives, current publications and denominational headquarters. The periodicals included in this project are those from the beginning of Brethren publication with the Gospel Visitor in 1851 and continue though the year 2000. No archive has all of these publications, but among all of the institutions involved in this project, a nearly complete set is being assembled. The project is being financed by a grant with the required matching funds for the first phase already raised. As soon as these digitized documents begin appearing on www.archives.org volunteers will be needed to check each page to be sure each is acceptable and none are missing.
