    3. Wayne, I was just getting ready to do some research on that family, so I'm interested in the situation that you describe. The LDS Church filmed a book that has transcriptions of the headstones of the Burial Ground of the Germantown Church of the Brethren. I made photocopies of some of the pages from the book, including the page that has Catharine Dedaker (1790-1858) on it. Do you think that there has been a transcription in the name listed in the cemetery? Or some other kind of mistake or error? Thanks David Myers On Sun, 27 Mar 2011 11:26:34 -0400 "A. 3. I am not familiar with this particular situation, but I know the cemeteries in Somerset County, PA had transcriptions made of tombstones for many of the old cemeteries in the county during the Depression by the WPA. The WPA listings have errors, which can be related to misreading a tombstone, or any number of other reasons. Unfortunately, these transcriptions are often all you have since the tombstones in their current state are illegible, or the cemetery has since been removed for highway's or other works of progress. In any case, a transcription is second hand information and thus not infallible. That being said, thank goodness someone had the foresight back in the 1930's to document these old cemeteries before they were lost to history all together. 3. Can anyone identify Brethren people interred in Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton, Rockingham County, Virginia? Most appear to be Scots-Irish. I am trying to assist someone creating an article noting the Brethren buried in this cemetery.
