Jacob Bear descends from the Baer's in Rapho Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. The Bears were early immigrants from the north down to Rockingham County and Christian Sr. formed a mill in Churchville, VA in 1802 which is still there. Many of the Baers were Brethren or Mennonite. I know that the early Bears in VA were probably baptised Methodist as there were not churches in the area at that time. I'm trying to track down an Ann Bear who married John Huff in Augusta County in 1811. If it is the right Ann, she would have been Brethren. I believe the Millers are related to Daniel Miller of Franklin Co. PA who were Brethren. When I see Susan U.... I think Ullery. Most appear to be Scots-Irish. I am trying to assist someone creating an article noting the Brethren buried in this cemetery.
