Howdy. I'm Barbara Breedlove Rollins, 51, a lawyer/judge, mother, and wife. I live in Abilene, Texas, and my interests include family history and writing (usually fiction, often for children.) My father is Sam Rhapherd Breedlove, born June 2, 1915 in Telephone Texas, husband of Alma Ellen Anderson and son of Rev. Rhapherd Thomas (Ike) Breedlove, the second oldest son of Jefferson Davis BREEDLOVE and wife Roxanna Pauline SPENCE, born December 7, 1888, in Erath County, Texas around the Hannibal and Huckabay communities, in a house on Barton Creek. He married Irma Lorene RICHARDS, the daughter of Samuel Paisley RICHARDS and wife Maryetta (Mamie) McCARLEY , on August 18, 1914 at her parents' home near Dublin, Erath County, Texas. Irma was born April 16, 1893, at Dublin, Texas. She died April 6, 1977, at Quanah, Hardeman County, Texas. R. T. BREEDLOVE died March 25, 1984, at Quanah. His father Jefferson Davis BREEDLOVE, son of Simpson BREEDLOVE and his second wife, Emmaline Matilda HODDGE, was born June 13, 1864, in Mississippi, probably in Washington County close to Jackson, Mississippi. As a small child J. D. moved to Smith County, Texas, with his parents, where his younger brother was born, then on to Coryell County, Texas, where he married Roxanna Pauline SPENCE on December 8, 1885. They were married by J. R. SEWARD, Minister. Roxanna Pauline SPENCE was the daughter of John Thomas SPENCE and wife Nancy Lewellen. Simpson BREEDLOVE was born April 11, 1816, in Lawrence County, Alabama. He married first Sarah HICKS, born about 1813 in Tennessee. Sarah died in 1892, evidently thinking she was widowed in the Civil War, but in fact Simpson married second Emmaline (Emmalline) Matilda HODDGE on August 15, 1863, probably in Mississippi. Emmaline was born July 31, 1841, in Mississippi. Her father was born in Scotland, her mother was born in North Carolina, but I have no other information on her lineage.
