I am new to the list as of this morning. And I hope it is a friendly list. Some seem to only chit chat and bicker. Mary (Polly) Breedlove b.Feb.17,1798 and married Rev.James Taylor. Mary is my g.g.g.grandmother. I have just been told recently the names of her parents, John and Nancy Breedlove. Is there someone on the list who could direct me to where I need to search for them and their children?Thank you. Jo, I assume you mean John Watkins Breedlove and Nancy Parker as parents of Mary (Polly) Breedlove. I'm also researching this line, since I descend from Mary's brother, Wilkins Jackson Breedlove. John and Nancy came to Montgomery County, Alabama, around 1817 (give or take), and remained there until their deaths. You can find John's will in Will Book 2, Page 97, available at an LDS branch on reel 1672424, item 6. The LDS also has microfilmed info on John from the Alabama surname files. Sorry, but I can't provide the reel number for this (oh well). Montgomery County also has marriage records for some of the children. The index can be found on LDS reel no. 1753401, item 2. Before 1817 you'll have to look at Hancock and Putnam Countys in Georgia. I also suggest you look at the message archive for this mailing list. There are quite a few leads for research there as well. The instructions for accessing the archive were included in the message welcoming you to the list. Hope this gets you started. Good luck. Tom Breedlove --------------57375F43933--
