    3. With the load of messages I have received about pictures, I see I better explain the CD project. First of all it is meant for everyone to have and at a reasonable cost of $10 or less since I have a CD Burner. I just couldn't see putting it all in a printed text of about 1500 pages that would drive the price up too high for everyone. I had thought about a Thomas Breedlove book, a James Breedlove book and a Charles Breedlove book, since almost all of the known lines comes from these three sons of Charles and Mary Parr, but that would involve some duplication and leave out what is known about the other children. About the only thing that I have settled on is that it will be in register format, but whether in html or Adobe format, I have not decided. The register format just gives the names, dates and places, which I will supplement with a little info but not much as I don't have the time to edit all of those pages of text. References will be in the bibliography for wills, deeds, etc and a few will be cited in full like their Revolutionary War Pension Applications. All of this is going to take some time as I am just now converting the database into The Master Genealogist which produces the type of register report I prefer. As I am just learning TMG, it is a chore re-enterring the correct format for each of my thousands of source documents, most of which I have to pull from my files to be sure I have copied it correctly and in the format TMG wants (or rather the way "Cite Your Source" says it should be). A lot of these weren't enterred that way in my old PAF program and some I have with no source so it's back to the library to try and refind the original source. One thing I disagree with is the preferred way to cite a census record. Everyone I've seen says to give the National Archives Roll Number. I have never in my life made use of or had a need for the film number for a census. My notes gives the reference in the same manner that I find that person in my local library, by year, state, county, page, enumeration district and family number, and name of town if given, so I don't intend to go back and add Roll Numbers for all of the census references. Another matter has popped up in some of the photo replies concerning those lines that are not connected. I hadn't thought about including them, but I do have a few family history books that do include a back section on unconnected lines, so it is not out of the question, I'm just not sure how TMG would handle multiple lines with proper indexing. With about 12,400 known descendants the text was humongous but adding another 3000 or so on a CD is within reason. I think we can all agree that all Breedlove's had to be descended from Charles since we have never found any lines that did not come from Virginia originally, but wether to include all of these other lines is something I will have to contemplate further. Let me repeat, this is going to take considerable time and cannot be done before the end of the year. I am certainly open to suggestions as to what to include or not, like excursus sections on the Parr, Broadus, Fletcher and Watkins lines or Gedcom files. The request for photos was just a feeler to see how many are out there so I can set aside a certain segment of memory to include them. With 640 Megs available on a CD it would seem like there should be plenty of space but then photos gobble it up fast. Another question is how to handle birth dates of living people. This has been a lifelong work and I want to share what I have amassed over the years and it is my way of thanking all of those who have shared their information with me. The cost of publishing in print form that much data would put strains on my budget and put the price out of reach for many of you. With a CD I can make one master and just copy it when someone wants one. I'll take the CD to Kinko's and print out a few copies to send to Salt Lake, etc, but everyone else will have to settle for the CD. Of course you can take it to Kinko's if you want a hard print or print it yourself if your printer will hold several reams of paper. Please, no messages of praise or kudos till you see the finished work. My mail box has already exceeded its limits several times this year and they are threatening to cut me off. Tom King
