    3. Dear Cousin, Suzie just posted the message below. I don't recall when she posted it the first time, but perhaps what people questioned was the "grandfather" bit. Since Charles Breedlove [apparently the "father" of the American Breedloves], was an adult when he appeared in the Essex records in 1708, so born before 1687, your Civil War soldier would have been at least his 3rd great grandson. I think many of the Breedlove families thought the name might be Welch. We may never figure out for sure, where the name came from. Marilyn [from Suzie] This was from something I found on J.
