Hello Gang, This is a brief note to catch you up on recent developments at RootsWeb as they pertain to our surname: RootsWeb has created what they call a "resource cluster" for the Breedlove surname which is a central website which contains links to GenConnect boards, search engines, plus an e-mail gateway to the subscription address for this mailing list (well, since you're already subscribed, you don't need to worry about that one!). I asked for the GenConnect Breedlove query board to be created several months ago and act as the coordinator for that page (I'll tell you where to find it in a minute!). This month, to inaugurate their new resource clusters, RootsWeb created an additional slate of GenConnect Breedlove boards in the following categories: Bible Records, Biographies, Deeds, Obituaries, Pensions, and Wills. Additionally on the resource page is a guestbook (!), a calendar (presumably to schedule reunions and such?), and a place for links to personal Breedlove pages on RootsWeb. This is all pretty dizzying and the possibilities for information exchange are endless! I've put in a request to RootsWeb to "adopt" the resource cluster page. Visit the page at http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/b/r/BREEDLOVE/ and try not to get lost. There seems to be several search engines and databases to choose from. Keep in mind that all of the GenConnect boards operate using different rules. Some, such as the query board, are wide open for posts to be made, but posts to others can only be made through an intermediary, such as me. I'm still learning about all this, too. Also, my personal Breedlove page contains several links to resources elsewhere on the internet plus links personal web pages of other Breedlove researchers. This one is at http://pages.prodigy.com/VSVE92A/breemail.html OK that note wasn't so brief.... Your Humble Servant, Tom
