This does seems like the most likely explanation. So not surprisingly it was me who was confused and not the census. Coffman Cemetery is on the Borden-Greenville Road in Floyd County, IN. This is near the border between Floyd and Clark Co., IN. It is said to be an inactive cemetery located 2.3 miles north of U.S. 150, Section 28, Township 1 South, Range 5 East on the Borden Road, to the right of Borden Rd. just before the Chapel Hill Road. It is a half-acre in size an enclosed by a fance. The cemetery was established by Jane Coffman during the May term of the Court of Common Pleas "dated" June 16, 1867. This makes me wonder if the Breedlove graves were moved to this site or if this had been a family plot prior to the Court of Common Pleas activity. It was my understanding that New Providence, Clark Co.,IN was formerly known as Borden. However, the couple below gave me an address which still states Borden, IN. Present day descendant Paul Coffman and his wife (both of Borden, IN) e-mailed me on Fri, 23 January 1998: Coffman Cemetery Greenville Township, Floyd County, IN Breedlove, Barbara A.---1777-1851 Breedlove, Isaac ---1772-1848 These two are a new stone erected by Noble Miller, between the old stones. Old stones have: Breedlove ------1849 Breedlove---no other readable info. Paul and Pat have been to the cemetery themselves. A copy of the burials in the cemetery is also said to be at the NewAlbany - Floyd County Public Library. Paul and Pat sent me a copy of that also. Julian T. Miller wrote a history of the Millers entitled: Early Childhood Reverie It is not dated or published, but Julian Thomas Miller died December 23, 1926. Julian was born 10 April 1860. He would have had the time to hear the family history from his father for at least 30-40 years until his father's death in 1902, and Julian's grandmother, Elizabeth Breedlove Miller, was still alive until March 28, 1875. Julian was 14 at the time of Elizabeth's death, so it is possible that Julian heard stories about his great grandfather Isaac at 12 and 13 years of age directly from his grandmother. My photo copy of Julian's history is from a photocopy of Julian's handwritten document.I need to confirm if this is Julian's writing. The Miller and Coffman Families consider this a true and accurate copy of Julian's words if not his handwriting. Julian was a great grandson of Isaac Breedlove. Julian T. Miller 4 < Samuel Clark Miller 3 < Elizabeth Breedlove 2 < and Isaac Breedlove 1. In his account on page 17 he stated, "He (Isaac) died March 25, 1849 age 83 years." Noble Edwin Miller was the supplier of the tombstones. He died on March 13, 1971. Noble Edwin Miller 5 < Lewis Clark Miller 4 < Samuel Clark Miller 3 < Elizabeth Breedlove 2 < Isaac Breedlove 1. I do not know why there is a date discrepancy between Noble's stones and Julian's history. Clearly, the Miller family is important in understanding the Isaac Breedlove line of Floyd Co., IN. Thanks to the list, Tom, and Charlie. Brad
