A DOUBLE COUSIN TO ME, as I hve Watkins in GA also... they came from Edgecombe/Duplin Co., NC -- to Washington Co.GA in early 1800s (actually late 1800s), then to WILKINSON CO. by mid 1800s. My Watkins goes back to MITCHELL & LEVIN WATKINS, two brothers b. ca 1745 NC (prob. Duplin or Edgec. Co.; one res. in duplin, the other in Edgec.) -- Best, TINA/CA
