John W. BREEDLOVE b. 15 Nov. 1841 in St. Francois county, MO. Enlisted 13 August 1862 in Steelville, MO for 3 years with Company E, 32 Reg't. of the Missouri Infantry. Discharged 18 July 1865. Attained rank of Sgt. (John is my Great-Great Grandfather) John Breedlove kept a journal during his CW service, but at present it has not been transcribed or copied. It is "owned" by one of John's descendants who at this time has no intention of sharing its contents. (not me, some one else). I know who has it, and have been just patiently waiting to see what this person will do with it. It is in fragile condition, some of it being written with berry juice when John ran out of ink. I would dearly love to read it, but I may never get to, sad to say. The person who has it has read exerpts of it to me, and has said that one of the things in it was a list of men who were executed on a particular day for treason. I am sure there are probably many names, dates and locations in this book that would be of help to many people. I just hope that someday it will be shared with the rest of John's descendants.
