I've posted this before but I thought I might post again. I'm still looking for any information on a male child named Jasper P. Snider born somewhere in TN around 1857. By age 3, he somehow came to be living with Jacob Breedlove born abt 1827 in SC and Barbra (probably his wife?). This information is from 1860 Walker County GA census. The child shows up again in the 1870 Walker County GA census as Jasper P. Breedlove (may have been adopted) and is living with Elisha Breedlove b.1826 in SC. The child, Jasper P., is my gggrandfather. He married Sarah Avans and moved to Jackson County AL by the 1880 census records. I'm hoping he might show up in someone else's line, especially the SC Breedloves. We also know that Jasper had a sister named Bettie that was born in SC about 1850, never married, and died in Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN on or about 13 March 1927. We think that maybe his mother might have been born a Breedlove and married a Snider (or Snyder), but we don't have any records to go by since we can't find any information on the parents or siblings of Elisha or Jacob Breedlove. Family story has it that Jasper and Bettie didn't know who their parents were, but Jasper thought his dad was called "Jake", which would possibly fit with the Jacob and Barbra Breedlove family information.
