    1. John Breedlove's Will
    2. While going through my Breedlove information and notes, and trying to organize the info I have, I found a copy of John Breedlove's will. This John is the father of my David Anderson Breedlove. It is hard to read, but it does list his children. It is as follows (as best I can decipher it): Chancery Court - Kemper County, A. D. 1896 Be it ______ that in Chancery Court of Kemper County and State of Mississippi on this the 22 day of June 1896 before the clerk in vacation L. H. Shepherd offered for probate an instrument of writing puporting to be the last will and testament of John Breedlove deceased late of Kemper County and State of Mississippi which said instrument together with the proof of subscribing witnesses was in the following words and _____ to wit. State of Mississippi Kemper County In the name of God Amen: I John Breedlove being of sound _____ and memory and realizing the uncertainty of this vain and trancetory life and the certainty of death and wishing to arrange my worldly affairs before I pass away do make ordain and _____this to be my last will & testament that is to say First after my orbs? and legal obligations are paid and discharged I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Rachel Breedlove all I possess both real and personal property to have and to hold by her during her natural life, after her death, I will and bequeath to my son Thomas Breedlove one dollar, to my son Samuel ? Breedlove one dollar, to my son Henry Breedlove one dollar - to my son David A. Breedlove one dollar and to my daughter Pricilla Watkins one dollar, to my daughter Martha Watkins one dollar, and to my daughter Nancy J. Barrrett one dollar, after thse several sums are paid out as above stated I will and bequeath to my son Joseph Breedlove the ______ if my estate both personal & real of my K___ and descriptions the real property described as follows the S1/2(?) NE1/4 & NW1/4 of SW1/4 & SW1/4 of NW1/4 of sec 36 L12 R__ E lying and being in the county of Kemper & State of Mississippi to have and to hold by him and his heirs forever and for the faithful execution of this paper I hereby appoint and constitute M. H. Shepherd and Thomas H. Shepherd my executors to this will revoking all former wills made by me. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand & affis my seal, this 16th day of May 1896 Attest D. H. Haily his X mark Then this follows: State of Mississippi Chancery Court on vacation Kemper County June 27 AD 1896 In the matter of a certain instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of John Breedlove deceased of Kemper Countiy Personally apppeared before me W. J. Overstreet Clerk of the Chancery Court in and for said County J. B Haily one of the subscribing witnesses to a certain instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of John Breedlove deceased late of Kemper County, who being ___ - duly sworn ____ and said that the said John Breedlove signed published and declared said instrument as his last will and testament on the 15th day of May 1896 the day of the date of said instrument in the presence of the ______, and that the said testator was ______ of sound deposing mind and memory and more than twenty one years of age and that these ________ subscribed and attested said instrument as witnesses to the signature and publication therof the special instances and in the presence of the said testator and in the presence of each other on the day and year of the date therof sworn to and subscribed to in vacation on this the 24th June 1896 W.
