This just enumerates the only known children of James Breedlove (who I believe is the son of James & Lucrecy Breedlove) whose wife was Kindness. She had been previously married to John Shorter who died in 1758 in Lunenburg Co., VA, with one son James Shorter by that marriage. James and Kindness had the three daughters, Elizabeth who married William Sammons, Sina who married Stephen Shelton, and Kindness who married William Stembridge. Why the action against Robert Breedlove's estate is unknown but this Robert is assumed to be the son of James and Lucrecy Breedlove, and therefore a brother of James who married Kindness. This then would be the heirs of one brother suing the estate of another brother. Thomas and John Pettus (from another of my lines) were said to be excellent litigators so there must have been good cause that their motion for dismissal was denied and the action set for full hearing on the merits.
