In answer to Tom King, I have the first volume of "Cavaliers & Pioneers", compiled by Nell Nugent, abstracts of the Virginia Land Patents, Volumes 1-5. The last entry in Volume 5 is dated 5 June 1666. I cannot find William Herndon listed at all, even though I checked variant spellings. You likely will be successful in finding him if you check the later volumes in this series. Robert Bagby is mentioned once in the records I have, in New Kent Co. in 1664, having land bordering 200 acres that was granted to Jno Maddison. Marilyn Owen
