    3. Tom, I am sure you have probably already caught this glaring error. However, sometimes what is right in front of us cannot be seen. You say below that "This Benjamin had to have been born about 1741, which is about ten years earlier than the estimated marriage of Thomas and Sarah in 1750...." Before that, you say that he "was 19 years old when he enlisted in 1781..." That makes Benjamin born around 1762 and makes him fit nicely in the Thomas and Sarah family between William (1761) and Phillip (1763). While we still need proof, it makes sense, in my opinion. Did you mean 1762 as his marriage date or his birth date? I'm inclined to believe Sarah may have married earlier than some of the estimates given - I would say as early as 1750 or 1751. She was apparently Richard and Bridgett's oldest child (at least, she is named first in Richard's will). This would mean she married while still in her teens.
