Married Martha E. BANNER (daughter of Joshua BANNER and Martha "Patty" BITTING) August 2, 1836. Died March 7, 1848, both occurred in Stokes County, NC. Six children, all daughters, (1) Martha Jane, b. May 8, 1837, m. Isaac N. FOWLER Nov. 21, 1855, d. May 1915, all Stokes Co. (2) Sarah Ann, b. Dec. 19, 1838, d. Aug. 11, 1925, Stokes Co., no indication she ever married. (3) Ellen Beatrice (my ggrandmother), b. Oct. 10, 1840, Stokes Co., NC, m. Virgil Hester WALKER (son of Robert B. WALKER and Amy HESTER) , Dec. 1867, Bloomington, IL, d. July 28, 1910, Walker Township, Urich, Henry Co., MO. (4) Eliza V., b. Dec. 22, 1842, d. Nov. 9, 1863, never married. (5) Mary Selena, b. June 22, 1845, d. Nov. 2, 1863, Stokes Co., never married, (was there something sweeping through the area at that time that would have taken both sisters so closely together?) Elizabeth Madison, b.
