Ed, it has never been proven that Thomas & Sarah Broaddus Breedlove had a son named Benjamin. While there is a Rev. War Soldier by that name who was 19 years old when he enlisted in 1781, there is nothing showing who his parents are and there is no later record of his existance. This Benjamin has been named as a son of Thomas & Sarah in many DAR applications with NO proof. Benjamin Breedlove who married Mary Watkins in 1762 could not be this same Benjamin because of the difference in age. This Benjamin had to have been born about 1741, which is about ten years earlier than the estimated marriage of Thomas and Sarah in 1750. Benjamin and Mary Watkins had a son Benjamin who married Lettice Edwards and it is their son John Watkins who married Sarah Nesbitt. Benjamin and Mary Watkins also had a son John Watkins Breedlove who married Mary Murphey and Nancy Parker. Hope this helps. Tom King
