Joe and Laura Schmidt listed the descendants. From a handwritten copy of James Waller's will and from Bible records from LDS microfilm, I note the following differences and simply list them for your scrutiny: There is no Publicola Breedlove in the Bible records. James Waller's will names five children (or their family) to receive his inheritance: Wilda Smith(Urilda), Opelia Hardy (Ophelia), Napoleon B., James Winchester, and the children of Julien Poydras (James, Andrew Jackson, and Mara E.). Calantha and Malvina died as children. The following differences in vital statistics are offered from the Bible records: Napoleon Bonaparte Breedlove, died November 09, 1911 Lelia Breedlove's full name is Lelia Wilson Breedlove Waller Winchester Breedlove, born January 13, 1861 Emily Breedlove's full name is Emma Marie Breedlove Jennie Breedlove, born April 01, 1873 James Winchester Breedlove, born June 26, 1827, died August 16, 1906 in Ft Smith, AR Julian Poydras Breedlove, died August 12, 1848 Urilda Breedlove(referred to as Wilda by father James Waller in his will), born September 20, 1819 Calantha Breedlove, died January 11, 1827 in New Orleans, LA Maria Eliza Winchester, born May 14, 1793, died September 10, 1848 at Bay of Biloxi James Waller Breedlove, age 76 at the date of his will, March 19, 1868. Therefore birthdate computes 1792. Some additional information of interest from the "Louisiana Historical Quarterly": 1. A friend of James Waller Breedlove was Stephen F. Austin who served as Mexican vice-counsel in New Orleans, 1829-1831. 2. A Feb 28 1843 letter from Andrew Jackson from Washington City to General Santa Anna in Mexico City via James Waller Breedlove in New Orleans dealt with prisoners taken in Texas which Santa Anna had threatened to kill. 3. James Waller Breedlove supported Jackson in 1832 and was appointed Collector of Customs, Port of New Orleans and served until 1839. 4. Many letters between Andrew Jackson and James Waller Breedlove 5. James Waller Breedlove was an unsuccessful candidate for mayor of New Orleans in 1854. 6. Julien Poydras died in New Orleans on Aug 12, 1848 from disease contracted in the Army as a Captain while serving in Mexico. And a personal connection from my research of the Chisholm family: Emily Walker Wilson who married Napoleon Bonaparte Breedlove was the daughter of Judge William Wilson and Malinda Wharton Chisholm. Malinda Wharton(d. Feb 19, 1864, age 60 yrs) was first married to Thomas Chisholm (d. Nov 12, 1834) a third chief of the Western Cherokees (father John D. Chisholm, Jesse Chisholm was a son of Ignatius Chisholm, half brother of Thomas). Bill Breedlove Las Cruces NM
