Dear Willette, The problem is the Worsham genealogy ( a new one) does say that Mary Watkins was married to Joseph Worsham prior to her marriage in 1762 to Benjamin Breedlove and Hope Breedlove had said this also but gave a marriage date of 1759 which I rather doubt as i found the marriage as mary Worsham, widow to Benjamin Breedlove 1762 in Luenenburg Co, VA Martha Kahn made a statement that mary, d/o William Watkins 1st married Joseph Worsham, a wealthy may , many years her senior. but then the book states that Benjamin Breedlove was made guardian of the children, the oldest born 1745 which is nuts. I think that Joseph Worsham was married prior to his marriage to mary Watkins if that is the case but can find no kind of proof for any of this other than a marriage record for Mary Worsham, widow and Benjamin Breedlove. I really hate these things as they make no sense. There is also 2 Richard Worshams who went to war. One was Joseph Worsham's son born in 1745 and John Worsham and Sophia Watkins son Richard. One of these Richards settled the estate of Benjamin Breedlove in 1793 when he died in Greene Co, GA. I have these papers. But which one? So you can see my problem. I wrote to Dorothy Tuttle and larry Washam, co-authors of the book to no avail. I do not even then they were upset over all of this. BUT, BOY I AM!!!
