This message is in response to the posting of Simpson Breedlove in the Civil War. I have on loan from the library a copy of "Arkansas Confederate Veterans and Widows Pension Applications" by Francis T. Ingmire. These people are not related to me but, thought I would pass along the information. There is a listing for the following: BREADLOVE, Ransom vet # 1688, Co D, 3rd Regiment AR Inf, served 1861-1865, wounded, applied for pension 25 Aug 1894, Drew County BREEDLOVE, W.E. vet # 3997, widow BREEDLOVE, Susie J., widow # 3997, Co D, 3rd Regiment AR Inf, served 1861-1865, wounded, veteran applied for pension 16 Aug 1901, widow applied 10 Aug 1903, Drew County, veteran deceased 12 Nov 1902. I am related to this family however, and I am looking for someone to share info with who is related to Susan Alice BREEDLOVE or Mary Zella BREEDLOVE. I have been told that they were the children of Thomas Monroe BREEDLOVE and Elizabeth GRAHAM. This I cannot confirm. Mary Zella BREEDLOVE was b. 18 Jun 1877 in Indiana. She married about 1893 to Virgil Curtis Clark b. 02 Jan 1869 in Illinois, d. 28 Sep 1918. Three children were born: Leonard L. CLARK b. 15 Jun 1894, d. 17 Jul 1982 William CLARK b. Mar 1898 Harley CLARK b. abt. 1901 It is believed that Harley died in childbirth along with his mother. Virgil CLARK then married Mary's sister, Susan Alice BREEDLOVE b. 16 Dec 1870 in Indiana and d. 26 Jul 1946. Susan and Virgil had the following children: Marion Theodore CLARK b. 29 Oct 1902 in Indiana, d. 04 Oct 1962 in Arkansas Opal CLARK b. abt. 1907 Edna CLARK After Virgil's death Susan remarried 24 Dec 1919 in Cleburne County, Arkansas to Martin Elberry DOLLAR. I have a copy of the 1920 Census from Cleburne County, which lists Susan, Martin, two of his children from a previous marriage and Marion and Edna CLARK.
