Ancestry.com has for the next few days the Civil War Pension Lists and you can search by name and then go into a new view online feature that shows you actual images of the cards used to register for these pensions which gives you information on Name, Widow's name, unit served in Application numbers and Certificate numbers and then gives you information on how to use that information to obtain the photocopies of the original applications. I looked up both mine and my husband's ancesters and may just have found the missing link I have been searching for for so long. Good luck to all. Beth Porter
