"Our Cherokee Heritage" began to link relationship to the Cherokee people but the end result is the only comprehensive genealogical history (as far as I know) of John D. Chisholm, father of Thomas Chisholm and grandfather of Jesse Chisholm. John D. Chisholm was a settler in the Watauga Association in eastern Tennessee, the first democratic and independent American government prior to the Declaration of Independence.
