The following information has been provided so far: (1) All the immigration sources fail to mention such a name and it is unknown in British records anywhere. (2) It does not appear amongst Naturalisations in America 1603-1800. (3)nor, in Strangers in the Metropolis 1593, 1627,1635 and 1639 for the City of London..and, relating of course to migrants to the New World. (4) It does not occur in any of the reference sources of British families or in the Heralds' Visitations of the sixteen and seventeen centuries. (5) There is no record of a coat of arms in any of the established sources nor at the Heralds' College or in the listings used by the heraldic stationers. (6) None of the surname books ( & our collection here in the Institute library is one of the largest in the world) had any reference to the sur name at all. (7) It's not in the census returns of the nineteenth century. Report from Cecil R.
