She was from the Stembridge's of Glynn and Crawford Co, and earlier, Hancock Co.GA, back to early 1800s. ANNIE'S parents (Joseph B. Stembridge & Sarah Amelia Patterson Stembridge) were not shown on 1900 Census, but for some reason ALL OF ANNIE'S YOUNGER SIBLINGS (including my grandfather FRANK STEMBRIDGE, then age 9) were shown as residing with Frank and Annie Stembridge Breedlove in Macon. So Annie's children would be some sort of cousins to ME, as they wd share my STEMBRIDGE genealogy, as well as their father's BREEDLOVE genealogy. Just found one sheet of paper I have from hope Perry Breedlove's book- we used to correspond years ago. There is a record of four or more Kindness Breedloves, just what connection is not known, the Kindness Breedlove who married Dec 1785 to Richard Buck could have been widow of James Breedlove and later married a Shorter, she is in court record as being deceased by 1795. Wheter is is any connection of the above to James Breedlove Sr or James Breedlove Jr is not known. One James Breedlove of Charlotte Co Va had a wife named Mary. Culpepper Co Va deed bk f, pg 114, shows William Breedlove in 1770 sold to Peter Hower, personal property, stock, furniture, iron pots and land. Deed bk H, pg 218, 1776- William Breedlove leaves land from J.g. white william not married at this time. (could that mean leases land?) Deed B P, pg 303, 1790, John Breedlove in an agreement with Sylvester Murphy. Deed B, ? pg 201, 1801, Phillip Breedlove and wife nancy sell land deeded her by her father, Leonard Barnes, mother Nancy Barnes. My father is Sam Rhapherd Breedlove, born June 2, 1915 in Telephone Texas, husband of Alma Ellen Anderson and son of Rev. Rhapherd Thomas (Ike) Breedlove, the second oldest son of Jefferson Davis BREEDLOVE and wife Roxanna Pauline SPENCE, born December 7, 1888, in Erath County, Texas around the Hannibal and Huckabay communities, in a house on Barton Creek. He married Irma Lorene RICHARDS, the daughter of Samuel Paisley RICHARDS and wife Maryetta (Mamie) McCARLEY , on August 18, 1914 at her parents' home near Dublin, Erath County, Texas. Irma was born April 16, 1893, at Dublin, Texas. She died April 6, 1977, at Quanah, Hardeman County, Texas. R. T. BREEDLOVE died March 25, 1984, at Quanah. His father Jefferson Davis BREEDLOVE, son of Simpson BREEDLOVE and his second wife, Emmaline Matilda HODDGE, was born June 13, 1864, in Mississippi, probably in Washington County close to Jackson, Mississippi. As a small child J. D. moved to Smith County, Texas, with his parents, where his younger brother was born, then on to Coryell County, Texas, where he married Roxanna Pauline SPENCE on December 8, 1885. They were married by J. R. SEWARD, Minister. Roxanna Pauline SPENCE was the daughter of John Thomas SPENCE and wife Nancy Lewellen. Simpson BREEDLOVE was born April 11, 1816, in Lawrence County, Alabama. He married first Sarah HICKS, born about 1813 in Tennessee. Sarah died in 1892, evidently thinking she was widowed in the Civil War, but in fact Simpson married second Emmaline (Emmalline) Matilda HODDGE on August 15, 1863, probably in Mississippi. Emmaline was born July 31, 1841, in Mississippi. Her father was born in Scotland, her mother was born in North Carolina, but I have no other information on her lineage. Albemarle co VA records 1810 census of Albemarle Co pg 187 Head of family: Cornelius Breedlove, males: 2 und 10, 1 ov 16, 1 45 plus females: 4 und 10, 2-10-16, 1-26-45 Cornelius remained in Albemarle Co all his life and prospered. On 6 Dec 1802, he purchased 130 ac of land and on 4 June 1803, additional 99 ac. Again on 2 Jan 1813 he purchased 70 1/4 ac. On 24 Sept 1834 to secure a minor debt of son in law Jonathan Gillaspie, he gave lien on 50 ac and a grey mare. No will was found but in minute book, 1848-1850 we find pg 371, 1 July 1850 that on the motion of Jarrell Beck, he is apptd admr of the estate of Cornelius Breedlove, decd and gave bond of $100. with Wm. Beck his security. As Cornelius was about age 85 when he died he very probably had given all his property to his children prior to this. 1850 census Mortality schedules, reel 184, pg 26 Cornelius Breedlove, age 80, male, white, amrried, b Va, d May 1850-ill three days Jane Breedlove age 75female, white, married b Va, d Dec 1849 of a cold, ill 8 days. personal Property tax lists-original records in Va State library For period 1782-thur 1789, each yr, Thomas Breedlove is the only male adult of his surname listed as resident of Albemarle Co. We have noted in State enumerations 1785 that he is the head of family of 12 whites, which probably consisted that year of himself, wife and 10 ch, boys and girls In year 1790 Cornelius Breedlove appears on the list s tithable and as an adult for the first time. thomas Breedlove is the only other one of his name so listed this year. In the year 1791, Maddeson Breedlove appears as an adult and in 1792 apears a Martin Breedlove.
