Hi all, I found my Noah (my grandmother's contemporary). He wasn't a Breedlove after all. He was a Mullicane. I found some more letters to my grandmother from her sister-in-law. One of them mentioned Noah Mullicane. It said that he came to California after the bad flood of 1951 in Missouri that covered his house. He, his wife, and his son, died in California, in the Long Beach area. I know I have a letter from him to my grandmother, also, that mentioned the flood. I am transcribing all the letters and putting them into my data base. That way, even if the letters are packed away, I'll have all the information. I don't know why I didn't do that before. :-) Carole Colquehoun
I found this information today at my local library; 1890's Harris Breedlove w/ is 70 his wife 63 now has a pr. of inf. live at Carson City Nev. 30th, June. Suzie Breedlove

Juanita, et al, I have also corresponded with Terri but she cannot find any of her references to the above Robert Breedlove and Mary Walton. I highly suspect this information is incorrect as no Robert Breedlove's show up on any census in North Carolina before 1850. I think they are confusing this line with that of Robert Henry Breedlove and Mary Ann Evans who moved to Henry County, TN. One of their daughters married George Walton. As far as I know, none of the early Breedlove families in North Carolina ever had a son named Robert, but Robert could have been a middle name so this is very uncertain. Doing a quick check of census indexes, I see no Walton and Breedlove families living in the same county in North Carolina before 1840, which is too late for this marriage. Tom King

RE: the letter inserted in the Hancock Co.,Ga. deeds book 1794-1802: dated 1 Nov.1955 Savannah Ga. Office of the Clerk Hancock County Sparta, Ga. I was in your office yesterday asking about the Breedlove and Foster families. Found in the Breedlove records the following: In 1790, in Prince Edward Co., of Virginia, William Watkins Breedlove, son of John and Elizabeth Watkins Breedlove married Sarah H. Foster. Her brother Samuel Foster married William Watkins Breedloves sister Elizabeth Breedlove. They both moved to Hancock County, Ga. A case of brother and sister marrying brother and sister and this is the connection of the two families. John Breedlove married Elizabeth Watkins in 1765 in Ludenberg Co.,Va. She was born 1746 and died 1821. He died 1799 in Charlotte Co.,Va. This won't help anyone in the Breedlove line for so far we don't have John's records--but the Foster line could be followed. In discussing these two families you said you were not aware of their connection, so this might be of help to someone asking for information. There is a book printed giving the Watkins and Herndon line. Elizabeth Watkins Breedlove's wife of John, mother was a Herndon. (illegible) off they can go in that direction, but I wanted to give you the Foster connections. Thank you for helping me and I'm sure I'll be with you again. Sincerely, Mrs. Julian D. Kelly 209 E. 45th St. Savannah, Ga. This came from a book compiled by Helen and Tim Marsh, printed by the SOUTHERN HISTORICAL PRESS, Greenville, SC., 1997, titled LAND DEED GEN. Can you transcribe and post to the list or is it too long? While we are on the subject of Hancock Co, GA - my line is John's brother, Benjamin W. Breedlove who married Mary Watkins (Elizabeth's sister). The "tradition" in my family has been that Benjamin and Mary's son, Benjamin Jr., was a sheriff in Hancock Co, GA (though his parents lived in SC) and that he was, at some point, indicted for murder. The rumor mill has it that he fled the state to avoid capture. Does anyone out there know about this story or have the details? Could that Benjamin have been, instead, a son of John and Elizabeth Breedlove (I have only one son listed for that couple, William - can someone post an accurate listing of their children so I can add it to my database?) or was it actually my own Benjamin? I have long wanted to know the true story about this situation. I have been lurking on the sidelines of late and haven't added much to the list but always enjoy my Breedlove cousins' posts - what a nice group you all are! In another vein, the following was posted on my DeHart list. I, for one, was unaware of this event and think it worth sharing for those of you who, like myself, did not know about this tragic CW accident. Probably everyone has seen the letter but me but will ask anyway. Does anyone know Mrs. Julian Kelly, 1955, Savannah, Ga. She wrote a letter to the County Clerks office on that date asking about John Breedlove and Elizabeth Watkins, and son William Watkins Breedlove married Sarah H. Foster. It was in Hancock Co.,Ga. deed books 1794-1802. If anyone wants the details let me know. Hello Breedlove researchers: I received information that a Terri England has information on a Mary Walton who married a Breedlove and had two sons; William and my Irvin Eldridge in NC. I do not have a good e-mail address for Terri and I thought someone might know where I can get in touch with her. Thanks everyone. Juanita
Bob, How sure was your Aunt Dorothey about Warren Jackson's wife? Your records say Nancy Ann was his spouse (and a daughter), and mine say Nancy Ann was his granddaughter. I have his wife (and the mother of those children that you list) as Elizabeth C. Lowry. I take it that you have not found a marriage certificate or record, or mention of his wife in any documents? Tom, Sure sounds interesting. It's the right birth date. Once I get moved and have some time to look into it, I will go down to Norwalk and look into the basement files for the death certificate. The names on the death certificate may give us some clues as to who that Breedlove was. I found the letter shortly after I started doing genealogy --- maybe 1994. The paper looks like it had been in my grandmother's belongings for a while; though, I don't know if it could have been there since 1949; that would have been over thirty years. Of course, it is possible. I have some of the letters that my maternal grandmother sent me over thirty years ago, and they don't appear to be thirty years old. Anyway, I will go down to Norwalk and get a copy of the death certificate when I get a chance, and I'll share it with the list. Anyone who is interested in this, remind me in a couple of months, if I haven't done it yet. The move and trying to find a place to live might make me forget. :-) Carole Colquehoun ----- Original Message ----- From: tomking <tomking@freewwweb.com> To: Carole L.
