To Bill Breedlove: Judith Edumndson is Judith Allaman Parr Edmundson, mother of Mary Parr Breedlove. Judith married [2] James Edumundson after Philip Parr died. Marilyn Owen
First, my apology to Tom King and Marilyn Owen and viewers of the List for waiting so long to respond to listings in May of this year. This e-mail was received when I was in VA myself, and I am just now getting around to some of my own notes. Reference please: Tom's May 08, 1999, "Judith, wife of Thomas Allaman" Marilyn's May 08, 199, "Wives of Thomas Allaman" Tom's May 13, 1999, " Descendants of Mr. Robert Parr" Besides a lot of discussion, Tom threw out a question, "Has anyone else done any research on the Allaman family or have any ideas on who this Judith, 1st wife of Thomas Allaman, might be???" >From the Rappahannock Co, VA Wills, I found this extract: "Will of Judith Edmundson, Dated Mar 6, 1753, proved Jun 19, 1753 Daughters Constant and Elizabeth Daughter Judith Faulkner Daughter Mary Breedlove Son John Edmundson Son Thomas Edmundson Brother William Allamans" Is this Judith ALLAMAN Edmundson? Is this Mary PARR Breedlove? If not, who are they, please? Bill Breedlove
Happened to find this letter-not sure if I ever answered it, perhaps one of you can help her. Feb 1997 from Mary McKay, 1051 Lake Placid Dr So East, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, J2J5A2 I wrote to Simpson Co re probate of Martin Breedlove, doesnt appear to exist, they sent me a deed and a circuit court order mentioning Martin Breedlove and Wilson D. Carpenter. I am trying to document the ch of Martin as I believe he may be the father of my 3 grgrfather, Richardson Breedlove. My Breedlove line in Warren Co but moved to Wolfe city, TX, then Ardmore, Ok which is my home town as well as my mothers. Ellen, dande@mail.tds.net
Tom, I have available pictures of William M. Breedlove, b. 25 June 1811; his son John Wyatt Breedlove, b. 1841; some of John's children, all born between 1866 and 1889. Happy to share whatever I have. Carol Yates Wilkerson Port Orchard, WA
Hi! I would definitely want a copy of the CD when completed. I have a picture of Cinderella Breedlove's tombstone (Daughter of Martin Breedlove and Elizabeth Carr). The picture is 91K. I also have a tombstone picture of Cinderella's husband Thomas Lowry Sr (115K). It's fine to just use Cinderella's tombstone picture to save space. It's a wonderful idea about the CD. Looking forward to it! Patty Rich
Tom, I have photos of my Breedlove line from the 1800's and some good tombstones. I would share them with you. This could be very interesting. Martha
With the load of messages I have received about pictures, I see I better explain the CD project. First of all it is meant for everyone to have and at a reasonable cost of $10 or less since I have a CD Burner. I just couldn't see putting it all in a printed text of about 1500 pages that would drive the price up too high for everyone. I had thought about a Thomas Breedlove book, a James Breedlove book and a Charles Breedlove book, since almost all of the known lines comes from these three sons of Charles and Mary Parr, but that would involve some duplication and leave out what is known about the other children. About the only thing that I have settled on is that it will be in register format, but whether in html or Adobe format, I have not decided. The register format just gives the names, dates and places, which I will supplement with a little info but not much as I don't have the time to edit all of those pages of text. References will be in the bibliography for wills, deeds, etc and a few will be cited in full like their Revolutionary War Pension Applications. All of this is going to take some time as I am just now converting the database into The Master Genealogist which produces the type of register report I prefer. As I am just learning TMG, it is a chore re-enterring the correct format for each of my thousands of source documents, most of which I have to pull from my files to be sure I have copied it correctly and in the format TMG wants (or rather the way "Cite Your Source" says it should be). A lot of these weren't enterred that way in my old PAF program and some I have with no source so it's back to the library to try and refind the original source. One thing I disagree with is the preferred way to cite a census record. Everyone I've seen says to give the National Archives Roll Number. I have never in my life made use of or had a need for the film number for a census. My notes gives the reference in the same manner that I find that person in my local library, by year, state, county, page, enumeration district and family number, and name of town if given, so I don't intend to go back and add Roll Numbers for all of the census references. Another matter has popped up in some of the photo replies concerning those lines that are not connected. I hadn't thought about including them, but I do have a few family history books that do include a back section on unconnected lines, so it is not out of the question, I'm just not sure how TMG would handle multiple lines with proper indexing. With about 12,400 known descendants the text was humongous but adding another 3000 or so on a CD is within reason. I think we can all agree that all Breedlove's had to be descended from Charles since we have never found any lines that did not come from Virginia originally, but wether to include all of these other lines is something I will have to contemplate further. Let me repeat, this is going to take considerable time and cannot be done before the end of the year. I am certainly open to suggestions as to what to include or not, like excursus sections on the Parr, Broadus, Fletcher and Watkins lines or Gedcom files. The request for photos was just a feeler to see how many are out there so I can set aside a certain segment of memory to include them. With 640 Megs available on a CD it would seem like there should be plenty of space but then photos gobble it up fast. Another question is how to handle birth dates of living people. This has been a lifelong work and I want to share what I have amassed over the years and it is my way of thanking all of those who have shared their information with me. The cost of publishing in print form that much data would put strains on my budget and put the price out of reach for many of you. With a CD I can make one master and just copy it when someone wants one. I'll take the CD to Kinko's and print out a few copies to send to Salt Lake, etc, but everyone else will have to settle for the CD. Of course you can take it to Kinko's if you want a hard print or print it yourself if your printer will hold several reams of paper. Please, no messages of praise or kudos till you see the finished work. My mail box has already exceeded its limits several times this year and they are threatening to cut me off. Tom King
I have photo James Anthony Parker, b 1837, son of Lucy Foster Breedlove and A.H. Parker (Also James and wife). Is this what you want? betty@netpathway.com

I have numerous photos of my Ira Meade Breedlove who was born in 1811, his wife and most of their children. Do any of you have pictures of Breedlove's born in the 1800's? Or photos of any tombstones that would show up well, like the ones I have of Ira's parents William Breedlove RWS and Mary Watts? Please don't send me anything yet. This is just a call to see just what's out there to see how much space these will need on the CD. Tom, I have a B/W photo of my great grandfather, William Jackson Breedlove, born in 1828. It has been waterstained and needs retouching, but I haven't had time to play with it on my scanner yet. Also have one or two tombstone photos in color. Would like to see them distributed, or kept elsewhere to prevent loss from disaster. Of course your idea also raises some questions. Would copies be available to the BREEDLOVE community? What would the cost be? I'm sure you could think of other questions. It might not be too early to give them some thought as well. Tom Breedlove

Dear cousins, The latest "Genealogical Helper" is advertising the book [ in 3 volumes], "Men of Bern: The 1798 Burgerverzeichnisse of Canton Bern, Switzerland". This was a list [with much personal data] of all men between the ages of 20-70, who were required to sign a loyalty oath in Bern. I mention this because among the list of names found on the index of those who signed, were: Allamand, Alleman, Allemann, Allemang, Allimann, Allmann, Allmen. The date of this list is of course too late to directly connect to our Thomas Alleman, grandfather of Mary Parr Breedlove, wife of Charles Breedlove, but it suggests a possible origin for our Thomas Alleman. I don't think I've ever seen or read any discussion of this before. Could he have been Swiss? Marilyn Owen
I have a question. Tom, where did you find your info on James Fletcher son of Gaines Walton Breedlove? Curious Before I looked for my James, I visited with my father-in-law and he gave me all his aunts and uncles names. Funny, but they match what I found on this Joni's page. Any suggestions anyone? For those interested in the Georgia line of Breedloves, I found a web site that has an 11 page story on Mayor Samuel R. Walker of Milledgeville. It's at: http://library.gcsu.edu/~sc/walker.html. Samuel is the son of Joel Walker and Eliza Breedlove, dau of Samuel Breedlove and Rebecca Comer. The story mis-identifies his parents as John and Maria Breedlove Walker, daughter of Rebecca, but that is wrong. Maria Breedlove, dau of Samuel & Rebecca, married General Sam Watson. Hope this helps.
