I have transcribed Hope Perry Breedlove's "Breedlove Genealogical History" and it has been put on CD. I've already sent copies to 18 people and they're very pleased with it. A couple of people (not many) got this at the "discounted rate" of $15 because that's what I had listed it for before I knew what all was involved in finishing/getting/shipping the CD. Plus, I had already gotten their money before I raised the cost to $30 (most people paid full price). So, Hope Perry Breedlove's "Breedlove Genealogical History" is on CD and available for $30 (check or money order). You need to snail mail me a request (you can send an email to let me know it's coming, too) for the CD that includes your name, snail mail address, email address and the money (I'll send you an email to confirm that I've gotten it)! It may take a little while to get the CD (since I'll have to get more made up), but you will get it! Joni Breedlove <jledb@bellatlantic.net> 1211A Ash St. Ft. Dix, NJ 08640
Hope Breedlove and I used to correspond, perhaps 30 years ago..I am sure he would be pleased that his material is still being used.. Years ago he sent me a copy of his booklet, most of the information I probably used..But, the book I mailed it to Marilyn Owen and it was lost in the mail...that never happened to me again..any books I mail now I insure... Once in a while I hear something on the TV about Stone Mountain, GA--and I always think of Hope Perry Breedlove. Ellen

Dear folks, I indicated in an earlier note that the Breedlove GenConnect query board was gatewayed to BREEDLOVE-L. I've just discovered that this isn't the case. I set about doing this 6 months ago but somehow didn't complete the job! So the gateway is now open. Two posts have been made in the last couple days to GenConnect -- I'll give these a chance to come through the list, but if they don't, I'll forward them. Sorry about the confusion! Tom [listadmin, BREEDLOVE-L]
Hi Willette, If you'd like to post the information for the general public to see, you can place it at: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Breedlove which is the GenConnect Breedlove surname bulletin board. When you post it there, it will automatically forward to the BREEDLOVE-L mailing list. Hope this helps. I just got Joni Breedlove's transcription of Hope Perry Breedlove's book on CD this week. Wow! I really appreciate all the work Joni did for us! At $15 it is a bargain! Joni, you might want to post your email address and info on how to get the CD to this list again. Kris Ball

Tom, Thanks for your detailed review of this descendant line. I have taken the occasion to review my version, make corrections, update, etc. I have been working on a "Kindness Breedlove Argument," a discourse to account for the Kindness Breedloves according to my own research, justify their relationships, etc. I would very much appreciate your source for listing Kindness Breedlove, b. abt 1775, Albemarle CO, VA as a dau of Thomas and Sarah Broadus Breedlove. Sure a lot of males (10) and so few females (2). So, please indicate the same for Rachel Breedlove. Good to hear from you again. Bill Breedlove

Hi. Myra Hicks Breedlove (b.1844 d. 1904) was married 3-4 times. Her first husband was William Warren Gage (b. 1837, d. Dec 1864) m. about 1863 in Arkansas. They had one child, William Thomas Gage b. June 10, 1864 Arkansas/ Gainsville/Red River Valley, TX d.12-27-1918 Oakland CA m. June 11, 1891 Muskogee, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory (OK) to Lucinda Elizabeth "Betty" Chastain (b. 6-6-1874 Fort Smith, Ark; died Aug 29, 1930 Oakland, CA). They had 6 children: Jess William Gage; Walter Wilburn Gage; Florence Lucinda Gage (died infant); Wilson Otway Gage; Grace Gage; and Maude May Gage (my grandmother, born 1905). Myra's 2nd husband was Thomas P. Silkwood (b. Jan 1850 Apple Creek, Greene County, IL; died about 1880 Jack County, TX). They married 11-6-1869 in Benton County, Arkansas. Thomas P. Silkwood's family came to Arkansas after grasshoppers ate the family crops in Kansas. According to a letter from one of the Silkwoods, Silkwoods in West seem to all be related and roots trace back to 1795 from Kentucky. Moved from Kansas (Fall of 1869) then to Chickasaw Nation, then to Gainesville, Texas, and then back to Jack Co., Texas. where Thomas P. Silkwood died. Tom R. Silkwood went to California in 1910-1912, lived in Fresno area, and died before 1952. He had a large family who still live in that area. Rode with his uncle John W. Breedlove and made at least one cattle trip to Mexico. He carried clean clothes to Henry Starr when the sheriffs were after him. He left Oklahoma for California on a horse that Starr had given him. He fought in the Spanish American War, and was in the Chinese Boxer Rebellion. Myra and Thomas P. Silkwood had the following 4 children: Author Dire "Diah" Silkwood b. October 12, 1877 in Gainsville, Cooke County, TX; died April 1, 1953, LA, CA (married Jennie Zeruah " Ruah" Murphy in 11-17-1901 in Colorado (and had 6 children: Earl Thomas Leroy Silkwood; Author Floyd Silkwood, Viola Elizabeth June Silkwood; Thelma Iodonia Silkwood, Jessie Iona "Iona" Silkwood; and Ernest Clifford "Cliff" Silkwood). Hattie May Silkwood (b. May 20, 1876 in Cooke County, TX, died Feb 21, 1905 in LA, CA) married to Thomas Hanes. They had 2 children: Maude May Hanes and a son. George S. Silkwood (b. about 1877 in Gainsville, TX) Thomas Riley Silkwood (b. Feb 18, 1879 in Arkansas; died 9-28-1940 in Fresno, CA) married to Myrtle Wilma Compton (b. March 15, 1876 Fort Smith, Arkanas, d. March 5, 1951 Fresno, CA) m. June 30, 1898 in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas). Myrtle was married before (had a daughter from that marriage: Bessie Beaulah Tankard, b. Jan 1896). Myrtle and Thomas Riley Silkwood had 7 more children: (Mary Ruby Silkwood (b. Jun 11, 1899); Fay Clyde Silkwood (b. Sept 16, 1901); Willard Silkwood (b. 12-30, 1904); Wilson Otho Silkwood, b. June 25, 1906) Ralph Jack Silkwood, b. Oct 17, 1909; Thomas Riley Silkwood (b. Sept. 25, 1912); June Silkwood, b. June 12, 1915. I have marriages on them if anyone wants them. Myra's third husband was William A. Sanders b. about 1840, Indian Territory (not confirmed), died July 8, 1889, Alhambra, CA. Supposedly he was part Cherokee. They had one son, Walter A. Sanders b.July 15, 1884 in Nowater, Indian Territory, died Jan. 29, 1925 in Richmond, CA) m. to Zora Maude Jones b. March 19, 1883 in Kearny, Buffalo County, Nebraska, died Feb 22, 1969, Alhambra, CA; married Feb. 21, 1906, Texas or Cherry Creek, Colorado. They had 2 children: Marion Leonard Sanders, b.March 19, 1907 in Denver, CO, died Dec. 24, 1973, in San Mateo, CA; married Leona Margaret Wilkins b. about 1908, married Jan. 15, 1933 in Alhambra, CA. (Marion and Leona had 2 sons: Richard "Dick" Wilkins Sanders b.1934) and Robert Marion Sanders b. 1935). Genevieve Sanders b. Sept. 29, 1908 Denver, CO, died about 1970 in Alhambra, CA; married to Paul Terrance Fletcher b. about 1905; died about July 1999; married about 1928. They had three children: Marylyn Pauline Fletcher b. 1929, Paul Terrance "Terry" Fletcher, Jr. b. 1933 and Nancy Fletcher, b. 1936). My grandmother stated a long time ago she believed Myra married a 4th time to a man by the name of Stevens but not confirmed. Supposedly Myra left Stevens.. but I can't confirm this relationship. Myra was the daughter of Simpson Breedlove and Sarah Hicks. The Silkwood line goes back to 1760s in Berkeley County, VA then Kentucky. I hope this helps. I am looking for information on Sara Breadlove married to John L. Lewis, the only child I have knowledge of is Mary Marsaline Lewis b: 22 Jul 1859 in Webster co. MO. I have second hand information they were successful farmers in Nebraska as late as 1917.
I am looking for the ancestors of Jordan Breedlove born in South Carolina in the 1790's, possibly in 1791. I have not been able to find him or his wife's name. I have some of his children's names, some were born in South Carolina and some possibly born in Alabama. One of his children, Matthew Jordan Breedlove was born in about 1834 and his wife's name was Roseanne Morrell. Jordan Breedlove is as far back as I have been able to locate ancestors for my family. If anyone has any information, please contact me. Thank you Kathy L. Breedlove klb911@tyler.net

Tom-I corresponded a few years ago with a descendant of Myra Silkwood--he lived in Redding, CA..I could find his name in my notes some place but he may be dead? Ellen
n reply to Ed Broadus' posting about William Thomas Breedlove - William Thomas Breedlove and Mary Frances Rogers were my great-grandparents. He was the son of Thomas W. Breedlove. Thomas W. was born in Georgia about 1820, then married Sarah Bingham in Tallapoosa County AL in 1845. They moved with their children to Arkansas around 1862. Sarah died in the Ouachita/Nevada area in the 1870's; Thomas remarried a widow, Virginia Raynolds Hildreth, who died in 1893, presumeably in the same area. Thomas is said to have been buried outside Dallas TX a few years later - I think he had a daughter in that area. If you have any more information for me, or think I might have something you would be interested in, please contact me. Jan Morris
