    1. James Yancy Breedlove
    2. Bill & Jan Breedlove
    3. For Lisa Newton and Tom King: I am unable to corroborate the "Wright County History and Families 1841-1991 Vol. 1 p. 213" account and your parentage for James Yancy Breedlove. FROM THE GREENE CO, MO PROBATE FILE 476, BOX 112, a James K. Dameron appears before the probate judge on May 03, 1852 as administrator for the estate of a Charles Breedlove (not on the 1850 Greene Co, MO census) and names Charles' heirs as Mildred Ann (probably wife), Mary E. (probably daughter), and James Y. (probably son). Is this your James Yancy? This particular court record has cleared up some Charles Breedlove confusion for me. This Charles Breedlove signs a note with John and Spencer (both on the 1850 Greene Co, MO census) for the support of Eliza (in John's household). James (not on the 1850 Green Co, MO census) is a creditor of this Charles and later signs a note for the support of Eliza. I believe these are all children of James Breedlove and Nancy Simmons back in Rutherford Co, NC. Mildred Ann Breedlove (probably widow) purchases from the appraised inventory of the Charles Breedlove estate, along with Spencer and John. JAMES K. DAMERON, administrator for this Charles Breedlove estate, may be a brother, more likely a father of Amelia Dameron, age 20 and wife of the Charles Breedlove on the 1850 Greene Co, MO census. WEBSTER CO, MO PROBATE FILE #1723 names this Charles Breedlove as an heir of William Breedlove, deceased Oct 19, 1858. This Charles Breedlove dies before the final estate disbursement in 1871. I do not have this complete file, but by looking at the previous payment dates, one could probably better define the date of his death. This William Breedlove (of TN, AL, NC) and the James Breedlove (of Rutherford Co, NC) are brothers, sons of Charles Breedlove (and Sally Fletcher) of Rutherford Co, NC (TN and AL). Bill Breedlove Las Cruces, NM

    3. Had a lot of responses so I'm posting this for those interested. Hope it helps someone. >From Wright County History and Families 1841-1991 Vol. 1 p. 213 James Yancy Breedlove was born in Greene County, Missouri in 1850 to Charles and Amelia Dameron Breedlove. That same year saw the passing of his grandfather, William Breedlove. The Breedlove family came from North Carolina trying different places along the way, as they had a child born in Alabama, two in Tennessee, and arrived in Missouri prior to 1840. They settled in the area south of Marshfield on the headwaters of james River. Charles moved his family to Douglas County in the 1850s where he succumbed to pneumonia in 1854-55. Amelia later married Raleigh McDonald. During the Civil War they took the family to Lebanon where, at the age of twelve, James Y. became a hostler in the Union Army. In 1870 the family lived on the eastern edge of Wright County in Montgomery Township. Amelia passed away in 1872 and the family sort of scattered to different households. James cleared a field for Hiram "Bud" Rose as payment for the farm on Beaver Creek where he raised his family. Shortly after the turn of the century they moved to Manes, where they built and operated Breedlove Hotel, a stopping place for drummers and home to those who would stay. James Yancy and Mary Elizabeth Shelby Breedlove had the following children: John H., who choked to death on a peach seed; Hettie Rojina married William Marion Wade and had Walter V., Ada A., Lennie E., Murril A., James C., Howard B.; Emma married Thomas A. Wade, had Mable, Lowell, James O., Morice, Clell; Bertie married Charlie Dowden, had Audra, Burnard, Glendon, Mildred, Billie; Otto married Ola Montgomery, whose grandfather settled Astoria on Beaver Creek in 1837, had James C.; Virginia married Robert C. Montgomery, brother to Ola, had Velma; Cora died young. James was a very religious person and he gave the land and helped build the old Union Church at Manes. 1900 Census MO Wright County James Y. So I'm trying to find out what happened to the parents of annie, Frank S., and their sibs (mom, SARAH "AMELIA" PATTERSON STEMBRIDGE b. 1856 AL) prob. died perhaps in childbirth.... and father, JOSEPH B. STEMBRIDGE doesnt appear. Best to all, TINA PS IF any of you ever talk to Ilene or any of their relatives, please give them a big CA HELLO FROM COUSIN TINA KEENE PEDDIE! thanks!

Mary Anne married my great great Grandfather, John Mark, on March 7, 1848, most likely in Philadelphia, PA, at the Methodist- Episcopalian Church. John may have been the minister at the time.
