Tom King: The other message tonight was for Tom Johes and I forgot to show that. The Irvin Eldridge Breedlove m. 2nd. Dinnah Phillips and his son Ervin married Sarah Phillips another Phillips family. The William E. should have been William Uriah but he always put William R. he was a Church of Christ minister and marr. lots of people he was my G. grandfather. He was born in Newton Co in 1858 and died in Johnson Co Ar bur. at Annie's Chapel Cem there. This is also where Mary Frances and James Basil Sparks are bur. she was Wm.'s sister. Tom, do you know anyone doing research on this Wm. & Chloe Breedlove from Morgan Co Tn? I have not been able to find a marrage record for Irvin E. Breedlove and Elizabeth Snow, it may be in Morgan co Tn, I will have to check there. This is the first clue to Irvin possibley being in Tn. Elizabeth was there with her family in 1850. I would like to know more about the Breedloves in Morgan Co, do you know who might have that family? Thanks Tom, I really do appreciate your work and have copied most of it and kept for future reference. Thanks again!!! Juanita
Tom: You mentioned rootsweb digest in your message concerning the Breedloves in Newton Co, what are you talking about? Did I do something wrong? If so please let me know how to correct. I am one of the two Breedlove families in Newton Co Ar. My family, Irvin Eldridge Breedlove b. in Warren Co NC was here in the early 1850's. He marr. Elizabeth Snow from Morgan co Tn and they had their first child in Newton Co Ar in 1854. The other family was William R. Breedlove who came here in the late 1870's from TN. A grandson of Wm. R. remembers sitting down with Irvin and they figured out how they were related but no one knows that secret today. Thanks Tom. Juanita

I am looking for information on Drucilla Breedlove b. 1847 MO. She had a brother named William b. 1842. Her father was Henry Breedlove b.1806. I believe that William and Henry are buried in Newton Co., near Flippin or Yellville. I am hoping that these families will connect. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Jami Henriksen
Of the Breedloves who settled in Ross County, Ohio right after 1800, one family went on to Clay Twp, Morgan County, Indiana. It was headed by Bayles (Bales) Breedlove who died there 27 Feb 1869. His children were Thomas, J., Mary A., Louis I., Elijah, and Pheriba. Interesting enough, Pheriba, being a cousin of mine, married another cousin of mine in the Stafford line. Larry (in Florida)

I'm interested in your Brown County, IN group. My gggg grandparents, Jonathan HAMPTON and Jemima BREEDLOVE settled in what was to become Brown county sometime before 1820. Jonathan was from Pennsylvania and they lived in Ohio prior to coming to Indiana. I wonder if there could be some connection, or if it were coincidence that your family landed in Brown County. Hi, I can't help you with Breedloves in Indiana, but I am descended from Cindarilla Breedlove and Thomas Lowry, who both died in Missouri (Laclede County) with a very short time from each other IN 1858. Was there an epidemic or something in 1858 in Missouri? Does anybody know? My Breedloves came from VA through KY too. Carole --[ ORIGINAL MESSAGE ]----------------- Finally we have another Indiana Breedlove on this web,for a while I thought I was the only one researching them. I appear to share a very similar ancestry with Brad and Konni, somehow missed James's e-mail so don't know his family. Have lots of information back to four brothers, John, James, William and Henry and their two sisters Elizabeth (later married a Hanley) and Lucinda who came together from VA about 1830 by way of Louisville Ky, where they crossed the Ohio river and landed at New Albany, lndiana,Wm. and Henry were full brothers, John and James their half brothers and Eliza and L:ucinda half sisters, there were other children in their family. They were with a group who disbursed and the 4 brothers and 2 sisters proceeaded on to Brown County where James and John settled, Henry ;on to Boone County eventually. William supposedly left during the gold rush for California but died along the way about 1858 (either that is year he left or year he died) they think he died in Missouri. If any of this is familier to anyone please write me perhaps we can fill in blanks for each other. Sincerely, Beth Breedlove Porter

He married twice. December 31, 1793, he married Eve Shank in Shenandoah Co., VA (now Page Co., VA). Eve died before 1800. Barbara was the daughter of Martin Shank Sr. and Carolina Dorothea of present day Page Co., VA. Isaac's middle name may have been Martin. Can anyone forward to me a copy of the 1830 Breedlove census. I was unable to download it before when Tom sent it out. Thanks so much. Beth
Tom, I followed your last communication and I don't have a John as a son of Thomas and Sarah Broaddus Breedlove. Could you tell us who you have as children of Thomas and Sarah? Where did you get your information or is that too involved a question to ask? How are the copies of Hope's books coming along. I have returned to England, but my copy would be forwarded to me here -- for a price. I am looking forward to having it anyway. Martha
Tom -- You are right about William dying on 14 Feb 1897. I got mixed up and put his marriage date to Mary GRAVES as his death date. I don't think that was a Freudian slip or anything. I appreciate the information about how to get a copy of Minnie Florence BREEDLOVE's death certificate from Ellis County. I will try to get that done soon. Finally, no, you didn't ever send William's ancestry to me, or at least not that far back. I have that Beverly is his father, and that John is Beverly's father, but I didn't know how to trace him back to Charles BREEDLOVE or if he even went back to Charles. I would appreciate that information very much. Thank you for your help!! Terry

Terry, did I ever send you information on William Frank's ancestry through Robert Henry Breedlove & Mary Evans, Beverly Breedlove & Fannie Bohannon, John Breedlove & Margaret Vawter, Thomas Breedlove & Sarah Broaddus, and finally Charles Breedlove & Mary Parr? Have now completed abstracting all of the Breedlove names from the Texas State Death Index into a database file that I have cross matched to the SSDI. Also the Texas State Birth Index through about 1960. These State indexes are very incomplete as they only listed those that actually had a birth or death certificate on file, while I know of many, many more that none were ever filed for. Some people have two birth certificates, one filed at birth with perhaps their name or "Infant of (father), and another one that they filed as delayed later in life when they needed a record. Those expressing an interest in "Our Chisholm Legacy", please be advised that I will not be responding to e-mail for about three weeks beginning September 2d. Taking grandchildren to the Cherokee National Holiday celebration in Tahlequah, Ok Sep 3-6. (I embrace the excuse of those claiming to be old, retired, and travel a lot) Bill Breedlove Las Cruces, NM
As a Breedlove descended from a charismatic Scotsman named John D. Chisholm, I derive a very interesting link with early frontier and American history as well as my Cherokee Indian blood. John D. Chisholm is the grandfather of Jesse Chisholm and the father of Thomas Chisholm, elected Third Chief of the Cherokee old settlers in Oklahoma in 1834, prior to the Trail of Tears. I have just compiled a self-published booklet entitled, "Our Chishom Legacy" as of July 31, 1998 which includes a chronology mainly of John D. Chisholm and Thomas Chisholm, a 6-generation descendancy outline from John D. Chisholm showing Narcissa Chisholm Owens family and the Breedlove connection through Carrie Bruton and John Washington Breedlove. It's 21 pages with Foreward, Introduction, and 43-line Bibliography. It is available at my production and mailing costs, $3.00. Contact me if you are interested. Bill Breedlove Las Cruces, NM
