Hello Brady Researchers. I'm rather new to this, so if I make some procedural blunder, please be patient with me. I am looking for information on Marie BRADY, my great great grandmother. This is what I know about her, so far: She was the daughter of Patrice (Patrick) BRADY and Elizabeth TARDY (or FARDY). Marie had at least one brother and one sister. She was born in 1822. I don't yet know where, but I speculate it was either Ireland or Canada. She married a French Canadian, Louis LEMIRE, in Wotton, Quebec, on October 11, 1842, when she was about 20. She died on 5/31/1903. Her brother Patrick was married to Odile PELLETIER, a French Canadian woman, also in Wotton, on 7/3/1849. According to his marriage record, he was less than 21 years old and he was an orphan at the time. Thus, Patrick Sr. and Elizabeth both died before 7/3/1849 and Patrick Jr. was born after 7/3/1828. Her sister, Heloise, married Francois GREGOIRE on 10/19/1868 in Wotton. She died in Wotton on 3/14/1926. Assuming that the parents were about 21 when Marie (as far as I know, their oldest child) was born, the parents were probably born around or before 1801. I speculate that Patrice and Elizabeth were part of the Irish immigration of 1832. This was also the year that a cholera epidemic hit Quebec (and the rest of Canada). I further speculate that Patrice and Elizabeth died in that epidemic and that their orphaned children were raised by french Canadians. Another possibility is that the children were sent to Canada after they had been orphaned in Ireland. Nevertheless, it is almost certain that the parents were born and raised in Ireland and they were probably married there as well. If you could give me any information on Patrice/Patrick BRADY and Elizabeth TARDY/FARDY (and their origins and ancestors and children), I would be very grateful. Thank you very much, in advance, for your time and consideration. Dick Lemieux [email protected] Concord, NH USA
