Although Martha Jane Howerton and Bryant BRAY were married 1876 in Barbourville, Knox County, KY. and their son James was born there in 1879, by 1900 they are found in a city directory for St. Joseph, Buchannon Co., MO. on St. Joseph Ave. but were not listed in the 1920 census. Oddly enough the census ennumeration districts for the city each started on either side of the address from the directory. Later(not sure exactly when) Martha is listed by herself in the directory. Besides James, other children were said to be Will, Roy, and a daughter, Pearl. Will was also listed in one directory as a "syrup maker". Questions: What happened to Bryant? What happened to sons; did Pearl marry, and if so, to whom? My grandfather James and his family were living in Crowder,McIntosh Co., OK, when he was killed in a constuction cave-in in 1921. His widow, Frona(Stevenson)BRAY lost touch with her in-laws. Does anyone know anything about this branch?? Nancy Bray Cooper
