Squire BRAY, born ca. 1836 in AL was living in the household of John MARSHALL, age 36, on the 1850 census of Williamson Co., IL. John MARSHALL's wife was known to be Nancy BRAY. She was also age 36, born in KY. Besides the 8 Marshall children, there was also a 50 year old Elizabeth BRAY in the household who was also born in KY. Could Elizabeth have been Nancy's mother? Or, perhaps she was an unmarried sister? But who was the 14 year old Squire BRAY? I have been told of other instances of the given name Squire in the BRAY family.
