He d. 23 Oct 1838, > Ross, OH I have a copy of the marriage bond between Peter Bray and Sarah Atherton. The Bond is dated 17 Feb 1790 and signed by Peter and Moses Atherton, which I assume is Sarah's brother. There is an affidavit signed by Sarah's father, Aaron Atherton, giving consent to the marriage. The marriage itself took place on the 23 Feb 1790. The ceremony was performed by a B. Clifton. The marriage Bond says Commonwealth of Virginia while the marriage is recorded in the records of Nelson Co. KY. However, KY did not become a state until 1795 and at this time was part of the C of V. > Peter BRAY was the son of Henry BRAY b. ca. 1738, Washington, MD d. 2 > Mar 1792 in Nelson, KY. Henry was md. before 1753 to Catheryn b. ca. > 1831, d. after 1800 in Nelson, KY What I am really looking for is some further info on Henry Bray and Catherine. I believe he was born before 1738 else he would have been only 15 when married ca 1753. I have a copy of Henry's will which was signed 2 Mar 1798 and probated on 9 Jul 1799. So he probably died in June or July of 1799. Do you have any info prior to Henry and Catherine? Or even Catherine's maiden name? I am a descendant of Henry Bray through his son Abraham but I have a good deal of info down some of his other children as well.
