My WILLIAMS research has taken a strange twist. According to the latest report, the family tradition is now that I may be "related, somehow" to Billy BRAY of Cornwall preaching fame in two ways. My g-grandfather was James Harvey BRAY, born 15 Oct 1836, conjecture is, to James Trewartha BRAY, bro to Billy BRAY. (This is best guess, based on evidence.) James Harvey BRAY, my g-grandfather, married an Elizabeth Jane WILLIAMS, born 2 Mar 1851, in Elizabeth, Illinois to Elizabeth BRAY WILLIAMS, daughter of John BRAY, bro to Billy BRAY and Elizabeth HAYS of Camborne, Cornwall. So the story I now have is that James Harvey BRAY and Elizabeth Jane WILLIAMS were cousins and he family opposed the marriage for that reason. Or at least, that is one of the reasons they opposed the marriage. Anybody out there with any connections. I will hopefully return in a couple of weeks with more definite details.
