Hi! I am researching one of the BRAY families of Marion Co., GA. I believe they may have originally come from NC (but have no proof -- just have "heard" that the BRAYs were from there...). My ancestor is Hannah Jane BRAY, b. abt. 1811 in Georgia who md. James WEBB about 1828/1829. Hannah's mother, Frances BRAY (don't know her maiden name) was living with them in the 1850 Census in Marion Co. I know for certain of one brother, James Kenyon BRAY, who md. Frances HORN(E). James and Hannah Jane (BRAY) WEBB had at least 10 children: John W., Charlotte, Eliza E., Caroline June, Martha, Ellen, Frances, Nancy Risby (my ancestor - md. Andrew Green TYLER), Poshana and Georgia Ann. I believe there may have been one older brother than John (from info. in the 1840 census). If anyone has any information on this family, or thoughts on where in NC they might be from (James Kenyon says at times that he was born in NC; and Frances, his mother was born in NC), could you please contact me?
