Clare, Can you tell me where the Bynum is you are referring to? The reason I ask, is that my ggg grandparents, William and Sarah (BRAY) PEARCE's youngest daughter (my gg grandmother) was named Ann BYNUM PEARCE. She was born 18 April, 1800 in Screven Co. GA. Her father was from NC, her mother from GA. I always thought she was named after someone with BYNUM as a surname, but now I am wondering if it could be a place. I don't see a town in NC named Bynum on the map. Thanks for any info you can give me.
