If you find a connection between the Brays from Surry Co. KY and the ones from Monroe Co.KY please let us know. My Brays came from NC and then went down to Monroe Co. KY. I would love to follow up the Quaker issue with someone who knows this Bray family. My line begins from Henry Bray who was born in London and came to Chatham Co. NC. I would also like to know if they ever lived in VA. There were a bunch of Brays in Williamsburg, VA who founded a school for black children. Does anyone out there know about this family? I also have a Henry Bray in my line. My Bray Line ended up in Monroe Co., KY. Wonder if there is a connection? Edward Bray+Nancy Dowdy came to Monroe Co., KY. from N.C. They had a son named Richard+Mary ??Bray, daughter Sarah Bray married Jesse Newton Gass. Jesse Newton and Sarah Bray Gass were my 3rd great grandparents.
